In the framework of ERASMUS programme each ISMA student, once per cycle of studies, has an opportunity to go for traineeship in one of the EU countries. The same student may receive grants for being trained abroad. Each summer season a student may use an opportunity of temporary employment at one of the companies from the list.

Besides, it is possible to do traineeship at a company of your choice, if it is located in the EU. More detailed information is available at the International Relations Department during consultation time.

The most successful trainees can be offered an opportunity of permanent employment after the completion of studies at ISMA.

Mandatory requirement: to do traineeship a student must not have any academic and financial debts.

Application for traineeship:
1. Choose a company from the list.
2. Fill in in the application form for traineeship.
3. Compose your CV.
4. Write a motivational letter to the company of your choice. Sample here.
5. All the documents shall be sent electronically to international@isma.lv

    Documents can be not accepted in the case of:
  • a student willfully interrupted traineeship in the previous seasons.
  • negative references from employers in the previous seasons.
  • a trainee failed to fulfill obligations in the previous seasons.

Attention! A student, who is doing traineeship abroad, works in compliance with the legal regulations of the host country. This calls for the registration of additional documents on the account of a trainee. Working conditions, days off, termination of employment agreement etc. are determined by the legal regulations of the country of traineeship.

Erasmus+ is the European Union Programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020.

Erasmus+ joins several programmes supported by the EU (including Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig, Erasmus, Jean Monnet; learning mobilities, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, etc.) which are replaced by a joint programme. Duration of the programme: 2014-2020.

    Structurally Erasmus+ is divided into three ‘Key Actions’ – the main areas of support:
  • Learning Mobility for Individuals;
  • Cooperation for Innovation and Exchange of Good Practices;
  • Support for Policy Reform.

There are also two separate areas of the programme for Jean Monnet activities and Sport.

The programme is approved by the European Parliament in 2013, November 19.
