World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan: opening of a representative office in Latvia

The official opening ceremony of the official representative office in Latvia of the World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan took place in Riga on 10 March 2020.

Starting from December 22, 2017, the government of Uzbekistan has created the non-governmental non-profit organization “World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan”. Today, representatives of the World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan operate in more than 4 countries, including the Republic of Latvia.

The Association's goals are to support and protect the interests of young people studying and working abroad. It is important to note that the initiators of opening a representative office in Latvia were the students of ISMA University of Applied Sciences from Uzbekistan; for this reason, the head office of the representative office is located on their territory.

The event, in addition to the ISMA leadership, was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of RU Akhatov Dilshod Khamidovich, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Latvia Mishchenko Alexander Pavlovich,Chairman of the Culture Center of Uzbekistan in Latvia Alim Abdusaidov, as well as director of the Latvian College of Culture Sandra Plota, the head of the integration program Valentina Volodyko and one of the most important organizers of intercultural events Ramil Kadyrov.

The head of the representative office of the World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan became a 4th year student of ISMA, Humayun Mukhtorov, who presented at the opening of the main goals and objectives of the association.

According to the reports of the Ministry of Education, ISMA holds top positions in the share of foreign students among all higher education institutions in the Republic of Latvia, most of which are from Uzbekistan. It would like to mention during the second year successful and productive work is being carried out by the Latvian branch of ISMA in Uzbekistan, which was the first in the history of Latvia officially registered branch of the university abroad.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ahatov Dilshchod Khamidovich noted the successful work of ISMA branch in the city of Fergana, and assured in support of the government: “We greatly appreciate this and will provide all possible support to the ISMA branch in Uzbekistan”.
