On November 26th, 2021 ISMA teaching staff, represented by dr. oec. Jevgenija Dehtjare and mg. Diana Pershtein-Lapkis (also NewDoor social accelerator founder) virtually visited the "Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation to Address Global Challenges" conference in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
During the conference, they shared Latvia's experience in drafting the Social Entrepreneurship Law and how the NewDoor Accelerator supports the emergence of new ideas and social enterprises.

In Ukraine, there are several organizations that are helping people develop social businesses, but there is no single legal framework supporting these businesses and other support instruments are fragmented. Latvia's experience gave participants valuable insight into the necessary state support and how are accelerator, forums, educational webinars, expert networking associations, etc. platforms helping provide a highly valuable experience exchange and structured knowledge growth. All of the above-mentioned activities help create more social businesses while also giving diverse examples to traditional business owners interested in learning about corporate social responsibility. Institutions and citizens in Latvia know how socially responsible thinking helps both to create new businesses that benefit the national economy and to make society more democratic, inclusive, and healthy. Therefore we feel it’s our duty to share this knowledge with other people abroad.
Key speeches at the conference were given by representatives of Universities from Latvia, Lithuania, France, and Ukraine.
