My name is Jasmeet-Singh, a fulltime master’s student (2019/2021) in BA at ISMA university.

It was my privilege to study at UAIC, Romania located in the city of Iasi. The city of Iasi, Romania is home to large number of historic churches and monasteries. I plan to study at university because of the courses taught by them in Business Administration faculty had wide scope, and I am pleased to have them learned successfully. The faculties are highly knowledgeable and provides you deep insights to the topics by sharing their experiences. Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi is the oldest higher education institution in Romania.

My studies begin in the month of February 2020 and we(students) were introduced with the Teachers initially and then can chose and finalize/change the subjects accordingly if there are any overlaps. ID cards and library access was been given within a week of arrival. ESN Iasi (Erasmus student network), a student network, which helps you with needed information upon arrival. They are active on social media groups aswell. ESN Iasi had arranged visit to museums, cultural places, and malls for exchange students with the tour guide explaining about the history and heritage of IASI, which made the visits memorable and impressive. There were gatherings in the evenings at the planned places, that way we got to know and learn about each other.

Nobody knew that there would be an uncertainty (Corona virus outbreak) which will hit and all of a sudden, the classes were suspended and was moved to Moodle. Lockdown like every other nation was imposed and we had to follow strict restrictions. The planned activities of ESN had been shut down. In that overwhelming, homesick, disheartened, anxious, vexed, helpless situation it was indeed difficult to focus on studies initially due to the news coming from all over the world. UAIC had arranged consultation sessions by the master students specializing in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (PCP) from their Faculty of Psychology and Education because some might need some help in navigating such emotions (and rightfully so) in the uncertain situation like this and I had a great benefit participating in such a service. (Such a great initiative!)

The online academic activities were done very well and there was a constant support from academic and IT staff which made the successful completion of the course and the deadlines for projects, assignments and other evaluations was achieved. We had been offered the necessary tools to continue studying remotely. My studies were successfully completed in the month of June 2020.

Last but not the least we did not get the opportunity to travel much and stayed indoors as much as possible due to the COVID situation. I am aware that it is not the mobility we dreamt of, but it is the least we can do to avoid the virus spread and keep us all safe. It was my pleasure to study at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and am very satisfied with the courses taught by the faculty in person and online.

I would like to thank and congratulate Ms. Marina Celika and ISMA international department for helping me with exchange studies at UAIC and approving the courses during the mobility.
